In a forehead lift, Dr. Johnston removes or alters the muscles and tissues causing the furrowing or drooping. This smoothes the forehead, raises the eyebrows and minimizes frown lines.

The procedure is done on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia with intravenous sedation or general anesthesia. You will go home with dressings around your head that are usually removed in our office the next day. Minimal initial discomfort is easily controlled with medication. Sutures are removed within 14 days and any bruising and swelling that you will experience decreased to “socially acceptable” levels within 10 to 20 days. The final result is evident in 4 to 6 weeks or sooner with continued improvement for several months.

Results vary with a number of factors including smoking, heredity, and sun exposure. But the improvement will last many years.
