Dr. Johnston will do this surgery on an outpatient basis. You will be under local anesthesia with intravenous sedation or general anesthesia. You will go home with dressings around your head and neck that are usually removed in our office the next day. Minimal initial discomfort is easily controlled with oral medication. Sutures are removed with 14 days and any bruising and swelling that you will experience improves within 10 to 20 days. The final result is evident in 4 to 6 weeks or sooner with continued improvement for several months.
